Storage Room Wall

If anyone recalls, the last house I owned was covered in color.  Since moving, I've yet to add any color on any wall, you know paint like.  So, for $25.00 I decided to try something new.

Now, the Storage Room has one wall this color:

And, I made a long, narrow rectangle of chalk paint with this color:

Now, we can write down what we take off the shelf so grocery shopping is a little easier.

Maybe one day I'll add a picture of the finished product but my dummy flip-phone just doesn't do the color justice.  And we all know, I believe in justice.

backyard love

I'm not sure how we made it almost three years without a yard of our own!

We have years of work ahead of us out there, but it has been so fun for all of us.  So far, at least.

Last weekend, I added a little color with flower pots, hanging baskets, and my house-warming {yard-warming?} gift from my sisters - the owl bird feeder.  There's no way to count how many species of birds live out there but they are piggy about the bird seed.

Tammy helped us with the flowers, the grilling of the chicken, and messy s'mores.  I hope she doesn't feel pressured to be our friend but there isn't one of us who wonders where she is on the Sundays she can't spend the evening with us.

Sunday afternoon was beautiful weather.  We couldn't help ourselves, and it only took a minute after talking about it before we had a fire started and hot dog sticks out.  The kids came home and we roasted dogs, had a picnic on the lawn, and then roasted "mallows" for s'mores.  They were the messiest and most delicious dessert we've had in a while.

Happy Spring!

Random Picture Download

I haven't used the digital camera for a long time, until last night.  I figure it's time to download those pictures, some are from Christmas....

Daisy took over the kitty bed.
Making soap on Christmas.
Jake got a hold of the camera.
This is a good one.
Daisy knocked the cat's water bowl down the steps and scooted it to this position.  Then, she went and got her favorite dragon toy and put him in front of it.  She is so thoughtful.
Wild Easter Babies.
Wildness continues...

Chess Club

Since moving to our new house, the kids have loved going to the library of Thursday afternoons to play chess.  Sometimes there are a lot of kids there and sometimes it's just one or two others.  The same teacher is there every week and plays and teaches them.  Some Thursdays, the teacher plays a ukulele while the kids play their games.  Abbi and Noah are fans of Chess Club.

Creative or Alarming?

Noah drew these during church the day after we moved into our new home, March 16, 2014.  I don't know how to feel right now.  Prediction, creativity, improved art skills, evil?  Hmmmm....
