we are hungry!!!!

We've known this for sometime now but....we are soooo hungry! It feels like we're on hunger strike but really we just don't keep food in the house. Every day when we're ready to eat we choose a dish off of the following special menu:
1. cheese quesdillas
2. grilled cheese sandwiches
3. totinos frozen pizza
4. cold cereal
5. eat out
6. nothing but a glass of crystal light

We need help! The occupants of our home are all capable in the kitchen. Our downfall is the planning and preparation. Please help us! We are in the market for:
1. menu ideas
2. grocery tips
3. planning tips

Thank you in advance for your assistance in our hungry plight.

What about mac&cheese and chicken nuggets? :)

How about rice? We have eaten a lot of rice lately. Rice and parmesan chicken, rice and frozen burritos (cooked enchilada style), rice and beans.... You get the idea. Rice is cheap, and especially easy to make if you have a rice cooker. I would recommend it. :)

There are also a lot of different ways to prepare yummy baked chicken, and it only takes about 20 minutes to cook in the oven. I have a yummy recipe for parmesan chicken I can share. Lemon chicken is good too.

Spaghetti and caesar salad is pretty easy to whip up as well. Or fettucine alfredo. I like to keep a couple jars of pre-made sauces in the cupboard so it doesn't take long to mix up. Add a little chicken and voila! Yummy.

Would you like me to go on?

I want to know when you snuck into my house and took a picture of my fridge. I usually go the cold cereal or cheese quesadilla route, so I'm not much help for you. Sorry. Good luck!

That is a blog post of mine with a recipe for one of our favorites, Sour Cream Chili Bake. It's super yummy, and fairly cheap to make :)
As Katherine said, Spaghetti and Fettuccine are easy too if you don't mind jarred sauces. (I have a good alfredo recipe I prefer, but on a busy (Read: Lazy) night the jar stuff is good)
Also, we like the Betty Crocker and Banquet meals in a box...on the mac & cheese aisle. Our fave is the 3 Cheese Chicken. Also the Fettuccine Alfredo Chicken one is good.
I definitely don't win mother of the year for the way I feed Haddie. She lives on noodles, chicken nuggets, mac & cheese and string cheese. Poor kid. She's picky though - and that's my rationalization! :)

You need to go get the book "What's for Dinner?". It gives you the shopping list, what to have on which day, and the recipes! Good Luck!
